Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, March 8, 2022 -- Roadrunner Technology Solutions LLC (Roadrunner), a partner of Deliver Addis (the d/b/a name of Universal Courier Services PLC), continues to see rising demand for its services and has attracted capital in its endeavor to be Ethiopia’s premier e-commerce and food delivery platform. The company has recently secured an investment from a blended finance vehicle that invests in Ethiopia, Uganda and Rwanda. The investment will help the company expand its delivery fleet, enhance its technology platform, and implement measures and systems to become a leading business in climate- and gender-smart practices.
Deliver Addis is a pioneer in the e-commerce space and has been making deliveries in Ethiopia since 2015. Over the past three years, the company has expanded significantly, delivering food to tens of thousands of consumers around Addis. The company also proudly supports more than 130 restaurants and was one of the reasons hundreds of employees in the restaurant industry were able to stay employed during the pandemic. Through its online marketplace, Deliver Addis is now selling groceries, flowers and other consumer goods.
