Opportunity for Ethiopian Startups: NINJA Acceleration Program Returns!

Startups play a pivotal role in tackling social issues and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By driving innovation, solving persistent cross-sectoral problems, creating jobs and fostering economic development, startups can address pressing social challenges, including digital transformation, amidst growing populations and expanding markets.
However, startups often face challenges such as navigating business environments, accessing finance and developing effective organizational structures and monitoring systems.
Recognizing these opportunities and challenges, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and JICA Startup Ecosystem Advisor have launched the 2024 NINJA Acceleration Program to support growth-stage startups in Ethiopia to enhance their business strategies, improve market penetration and promote investment readiness.
Growth stage Startups
- Have a proven product or service, established customer base and are generating revenue but are looking to expand further.
Who can apply?
- Startups operating in Ethiopia with a valid business registration
- Tech-enabled business models and/or products/services
- Are post-revenue and looking to grow
- Are led by a dedicated full-time founding team
- In preferred sectors: Agri-tech, Manufacturing technology, Fintech, Health-tech, Tourism-tech, Mining-tech and digital and ICT are more preferable
Application Window: June 26 and ends on July 12, 2024 by (12 @Noon) (6 Local Time).
